'I'm a Person Too' Project

I'm a Person Too flyer and link to PDF of flierGreenwich Council worked with Rotherham Council and Wiltshire County Council on a project to improve people's skills in communicating with people with learning disabilities.

There are 1.5 million people with learning disabilities in the UK who have daily contact with a wide range of public sector agencies which don't always provide clear information or accessible services.

We wanted to improve the life chances of people with learning disabilities who are misunderstood and socially excluded because organisations don't communicate well.

Working with Words worked with Advocacy in Greenwich on the project and are providing training for the Police and people from the Housing Department. The Aim of the training is to develop staff's knowledge, skills and understanding of how to work more effectively with people with a learning disability.
