European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) Training
Bob Boulder, James Bennett, Chris Judge, Ros Thomson, Asad Ahmad and Sajid Jawaid (Mayor of Greenwich) at our AGM
Working with Words was awarded the status of Accredited Test Centre for the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL), and is a centre which uniquely trains those with learning difficulties. We have trained seven of our service-users with learning disabilities for the Level One examination.
These seven people were given an award for their achievements in training at a ceremony hosted by the Camden Society. The trainees participated in a London wide programme which was funded by the London Learning and Skills Council and coordinated by the Camden Society.
Arkin Azmi, James Bennett, Lana Dunnett, Chris Judge, Kerry Lovage, Ros Thomson and Felicity Turner have been working to achieve the ECDL, the European-wide qualification which enables people to demonstrate their competence in computing to enhance their career prospects.
This is a great achievement for our service users and is the culmination of months of hard work by them and their trainer. It demonstrates the achievements possible by those with learning difficulties. Everyone at Working with Words is very proud.
